Impressed Have used this light for the past 5 years, have not yet changed the batteries. I used it in the flashing mode, probably more than 100 hours total, and its going strong. Has survived rain a few times, a couple of bicycle accidents, and random bike falls. It is a very dependable light, with a nice bracket. I cannot compare it with any other light, because did not need to buy any other. Overall, greatly satisfied. Review by fan (Posted on 6/20/2012)

Great blinker! Excellent blinker rear light. East to mount in different configurations and very bright. The side amber lights are a great and useful feature. I haven't have any problems with the clip yet and I use this light on a mountain bike. Two cons: It takes a great amount of force to take apart to change the batteries. Secondly, a few days after giving my bike a bath I noticed rust all over the screw and metal pieces. Barely any water got on it, but it rusted quickly, so be wary of that. Other than that I've been very satisfied with this light, and highly recommend it. Review by Arizona Biker (Posted on 6/10/2012)

Battery instructions Great light, and a good price. I like the there different settings. However, the direction for changing the batteries on the older model (the one with three screws securing the two halves) is different than the link provided by Blackburn and the other post. You unscrew all three screws, then gently pry apart the two halves. Use a small flat bladed screw driver to separate it at the rubber seal. Just work slowly around the seal so not to damage it. Bright There is no way a vehicle, or anyone for that matter, would miss you with this light on. The patterns for the flashing, and the amount of LEDs, this light is almost obnoxious. It is very very bright.

I ride alone before work and I need to make sure I am seen. This and bright clothes have worked so far. Review by PBJoe (Posted on 3/25/2012)

Bright, versatile, but not super durable I've used my mars 3 for two riding seasons. It's nice and bright and fairly compact. However, it popped out of the mount pretty easily and basically completely destroyed itself as it hit the ground. The good news, the parts pretty much all snapped back together and it worked again... the bad news... the mount is all messed up now and I had to rig up some stuff with zip-ties to get it to stay in place and not fall off again. I think the clip-in clip-out mounting was the weak point. Good idea, just not very secure. Overall, its a good light... I just wish it would have stayed on my bike a little better. Awesome Light Had one that outlasted my Gary Fisher, and is probably still on the Cannondale that got "removed" from my garage. When I replace the Cannondale, I will definitely add one of these to it. Awesomely bright and the different flashing options make riders hard to miss. Review by Magoo2068 (Posted on 2/7/2012)

Excellent rear light for the money! Great light for the money! Super bright, and love the side light for extra visibility! Stays put in the clip, which is attached to my seat post. Review by dcee604 (Posted on 1/17/2012)

Buy it! This is a great light! It has an excellent run time in flashing mode and is very bright. The three different modes allow you to choose how you feel safest. Side to side lighting is good. The mounting options are very handy. I keep it mounted to my seat post, but occasionally clip it to my backpack when I jump on other bikes. That's a very convenient feature that should not be overlooked. Review by Adam (Posted on 1/11/2012)

Mars 3.0 My wife has had this light on her bike for the past 5 years and is thrilled with it. It is the brigtest light I have tested with great visibility at any angle. A great value. Review by bulls eye (Posted on 1/10/2012)

Bright, side lumination, and simple I use commuting daily and the light is great. I really like the side indicators that help cars/cyclist on side roads see me better. I had it cliped to my Seal Line bag for a while, but ended putting it on the intended clip. I have not had issues with the clip yet as others have indicated. I have had the Bike Planet light and enjoyed it until it bounced off one day. Review by Wardy (Posted on 11/23/2011)

Excellent light, but has an achilles heel I'm on my second one of these lights (only because the first one fell off due to a broken clip.) The lights are bright & visible. Also, the light itself is pretty durable but the clip downright stinks. My current Mars 3.0 has a cracked clip as well & I'm haven't been doing anything crazy with it. I wish I could just purchase replacement clips, because the light tends to outlive the clip by a pretty solid margin. Review by Mr. Santos (Posted on 11/14/2011)

Great product, flimsy clip Great light output and visibility. I have 3 lights and a couple of extra brackets. Unfortunately one has had the clip broken by my son, another by a mate. Hopefully spares are available....... Review by Mark (Posted on 10/24/2011)

Hard to change battery. I don't have instructions anymore and there are no instructions for replacing batteries on this site. I've got 3 screws out but scared to break the light taking it apart. Any advice?

Good Product and Great Customer Service I purchased one of these a few months back. It was one of the few lights that easily mounted to my rack. I'm a commuter and like the fact that it's very bright. After a few months I noticed that it was eating batteries even after I was extra careful to be sure it was off. It was often dead after a vacation or a few weeks on not using it. I sent in a note to the company and I now have a new one! I thought this type of customer service didn't exist anymore. Good Product To change the batteries, one needs a coin to pry the two sides apart. Then two AAA batteries. Review by Ruthann (Posted on 10/13/2011)

Best Tail light for Topeak Rack I was looking for a rack mounted tail light and was disappointed with everything I found until I looked at the Blackburn 3.0. Mounting bracket is solidly designed, sturdy and stable. Light is bright and it uses AAA batteries like my other gear so I only have to carry one type of spare batteries. Other lights use type N batteries which are oddball. Review by Biker Jim (Posted on 9/20/2011)

Excellent I love these lights. With the different mounting options it is ideal for placing on a bike rack. In fact the best option for Topeak rack and bag combo's. I actually have 4 of these for my wife and I's street and mountain bikes. Review by Skipper T (Posted on 9/13/2011)
